Sewer Systems 2004-03-31
The Environmental Services Department consists of the solid waste management, water and sewer utilities and the weed control functions.

The Provincial Government through various permits and approvals regulates these functions. The department employs three full time staff, which perform direct services, administer thirty nine (39) routine maintenance service contracts, supervise eight (8) seasonal employees as well as administer a private public partnership with Gibraltar Mines Ltd.

The department also employs numerous contractors and consultants by way of public tenders or proposal calls to complete various capital development projects.

In 2003 $5,800,000 in services were administered by the department.
